We often look for reason in the world, for a cause. We demand to know why. The why can become an obsession. Why do we search for the answer and is there always an answer? I am interested in our human desire to know everything in relation to ourselves. We are human and perceive the world through human perspective. I am curious as to what happens when we are presented with a mark or presence, but not the origin. What we cannot see frightens us, because it is the unknown. These imprints or traces are the remains of something that once was, and perhaps still is. The imprints are in front of us, and we are presented with an object as a trace, a shadow of a being. We can relate these imprints to animals and objects we see everyday, and as our visual vocabulary lends itself to identifying the origin, we are creating it through our human perception. We end up creating what we imagine to be the origin based on our individual experiences. Let these expand your curiosity.
