Abstract: This paper analyzes artwork by contemporary Latina and Chicana artists Delilah Montoya, Elsa Medina, Scherezade Garcia, and Christina Fernandez, that depict the migrant journey from Latin America to the United States. Their artwork expresses their personal interest in specific migrant experiences and actively promotes understanding of the broader topic of migration. The work of these artists differs in medium, content, style and representation of the migrant subject. However, they all use visual storytelling, specifically the presentation of an incomplete narrative, to communicate the experience of dislocation inherent in migration.
