Fall 2005 gallery installation

This installation is a culmination of a few months concentrating on community actions and public art. This piece and the two others that it documents (the community sand mandala and the community mural) were meant to begin a discussion about freedom of expression and the ownership of space. Members of the community were invited to add to the installation by bringing in their own art or creating it on the spot, thus blurring the lines between author and viewer. Both of these images are from after community members added their art.
