In semester #1 of my SMP experience I became involved with thinking about how we obtain our knowledge (specifically science-based knowledge). I read about artist Eve Andree Laramee and became intrigued with the idea of creating fictional objects or characters in order to make the viewer think about the validity of information that is dispersed to us. The pieces on this page all focus around the string theory (something you can read more about in my statement) and are designed to be seen as false realities. Toward the end of the semester, I created a character who was linked to all the previous pieces I had made. In the long run, while my work during this time was fun to make, my art became more about developing a fictional character than focusing on science; thus, my attempts didn't quite work out as planned.
