Ever since I got in trouble for picking a hole in the drywall of my bedroom when I was five, I’ve been in pursuit of creating art. “Katie Grace! Why did you do that?” my mom yelled. “It’s a horse, mom! See?” I replied, even though the peeled back wall resembled nothing more than a blob-esque mess of missing paint. I suppose I started “getting serious” about art in high school. My Nana is a painter and I’ve always been envious of her talents, so in my freshman year when my Intro to Drawing teacher told me I had potential to be a wonderful artist, I immediately joined together my technical skills with my creative mind. To make a long story short, here I am—a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a B.A. At this point, I still don’t know where my love of viewing/making art will take me, but I can say with complete confidence that being creative will always be an important part of my life.
